Is it legal for a seller to accept an offer and then reject it for another offer in New York state?Let me explain, so I have made an offer on a property in Queens through my agent which was accepted by the seller as indicated by the seller agent. My agent indicated to me that the seller agent send him a text that our offer was accepted by the seller and the contract will be sent out by the attorney soon. We waited a little over a week for the contract only to be told that the seller accepted another offer which was all cash and will be moving forward with that instead. Is this a legal practice? Can I take any legal action here because I do want the property and during this period I stop looking at other options and didn’t submit any offer on other properties which I could’ve been accepted for as well.
